I am an associate professor at the IT University in Copenhagen. My research is within the software development group. My research interest is industrial software production. This encompasses both analysis as in Product Line Architectures and in the more technical issues of software generation and flexibility. I am also interested in object-oriented programming languages, aspect-oriented programming, and domain-specific languages.

I have a number of administrative roles at the university:

The IT University runs a number of change projects I participate in as well:
  • Revision of MSc in the business part of our program portfolio
  • Implementation of the Danish "Progress Reform"
  • Institutional accreditation and quality assurance

Due to the above, publishing is slow. However, my papers are available online here.

I supervise students still. A list can be found in the course base at my.itu.dk (search Kasper Østerbye).

At the moment I teach a few lectures on Mobile Application Development in the spring semester.

Research wise I am involved in co-supervising PhD student Stefan Stanciulescu, within the project Varies.
